Balanstri is a product of Bioactri B.V, a Dutch company. Our vision is to become the world leading company to restore and maintain normal Omega-6/Omega-3 fatty acid balance in individuals by offering documented dietary advice guide and high quality products that provide customer satisfaction.

The Balanstri products provide your body with sufficient anti-inflammatory polyphenols from olive and the marine essential omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA from fish. This combination is essential to restore normal Omega-6/Omega-3 fatty acid balance in an efficient and safe manner.

The research behind our products started in the 1990’s at universities in Norway, Spain and Italy. Today our research is continued at universities and research institutions in the Netherlands, Italy, Finland and on Iceland. The knowledge generated through our research is the fundament of Balanstri, combining polyhenols from extra virgin olive oil with marine omega-3 fatty acids (EPA and DHA) from fish in such a way that most people safely and efficiently may restore and maintain normal Omega-6/Omega-3 fatty acid balance for life.

 

Dr. Harmen Hofstra

Dr. Harmen Hofstra has a degree in Microbiology and Microbial Genetics and a PhD in Medicine (medical microbiology) from Groningen University (NL).

  • Dr Hofstra was Head of the Department of Microbiology and Director of business development in food safety at TNO Nutrition and Food Research Institute (NL) in the period 1986 to 2002.
  • He was responsible for several large-scale food safety projects within and outside TNO in EU Framework Programmesand on national or commercial financing.
  • Dr Hofstra was the Director of the Brussels Office of the European Association for Food Safety from 2002 to 2012.
  • He has been the coordinator of the ‘Food Safety’ in the European Technology Platform Food for Life (2008 to 2012).

 

Mr. Ola Eide

Founder and cofounder of several companies, including Akobe AS, OliVita AS, and BioActive Foods AS.  Several years of entrepreneurial and board experience
  • Mr Eide has held a number of leadership positions, includingChairman of the Norwegian and the joint Nordic research in the field of nutrition, under the direction of the ‘Norwegian Research Council’ and the ‘Nordic Industrial Fund‘.
  • Served  as director of innovation at Mills DA and R&D director at Tine Norwegian Dairies for several years.
  • Co-founder of the  largest European ERA-NET (European Research Area = ERA) in the field of food safety ‘SAFE FOOD ERA‘. Served as program communication coordinator for several years.
